Costumes

I always wanted to have a really kickass costume you know the kind that are like the best ever! I mean a really quality one not those cheap kind they sell at Halloween time that are made of nylon. And what's with these costume themes? I understand the traditional ones like the witch and the devil or even ones that are based off movies and tv shows like the Stewie (from Family Guy) and Jack Sparrow costumes. But some of them just put words like "Naughty", "Sexy", "Hot", "Punk", and "Goth" in front of costume names. Like the "Gothic Geisha", "Punk Skeleton", and "Naughty Newscaster". Ok, ok I made the last one up. But there could be a costume like that eventually.

I've been thinking the best costume I can have is one I make myself. It will be more durable than one bought from the store and it will probably cost less too. I mean costumes today cost more than durable clothes you can wear than once a year. I don't know how many times I've heard people complaining about how their costume didn't look like the one on the package pimped out with all the optional accessories. But I'm not going to diss Halloween it's probably my fave holiday next to Christmas that is still #1 with me. I would write about how much I love Christmas but that is for another blog.

I already have some ideas for next year's costume. But I won't tell what they are.

In closing I think the best costumes are the ones that let you be yourself or be somebody else.

More thoughts on Halloween

Originally posted on Friday, October 27, 2006

Ok after writing my first Halloween blog I noticed that I forgot to mention some other things.

Mooching kids/adults:

Ok does that baby in the bunting dressed as a puppy really going to eat that Snickers bar? Because everybody knows the candy is for your baby.

Please if you are coming back to my house for 2nds please have the decency to come back for more candy in a different costume.

What are you supposed to be?

I hate when that happens. You think your costume is so great as what you thought or hoped you looked like. That is so annoying. Last year WWE Raw made fun of this by having nobody know who Todd Grisham was supposed to be.

I would really like to know what constitutes a Halloween song?

Because some people are really confused. I mean is "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" by Panic! at the Disco a Halloween song? Please explain this to me. I fail to see how it is. "Dead Man's Party" and "Don't Fear the Reaper" are Halloween songs well to me. For the record I don't even listen to BOC, but I do know that song. ("More cowbell!") Don't forget "Ghost Town" by the Specials I just love that song.

Those first few things are my dislikes/gripes with Halloween. Here are some of the things I like about it.

The Candy:

Ok it's not Halloween without the candy, and I love candy. Actually I love any holiday with candy floating around. Ok some holidays I like more than others. I like Halloween more than Valentines Day. Plus I like a lot of seasonal Halloween candy a lot of people don't like. I like mellocreams aka candy corn and those peanut butter kisses.

Make up and dress:

I'm not talking about costumes here well sort of. What I mean is that for Halloween or around Halloween time you can get away with wearing an outfit you wouldn't normally wear and I'm not talking about sexy clothes either. I mean you can get away with wearing wild make up and dark colored nail polish with out being made fun of. I prefer dark polish year round. Especially black, you can get away with black because it's "festive". You can also get away with wearing "tacky" clothes you never had the courage to wear on any other day and call it a "costume".

Being Scared:

You know this is a fun thing to do or have done to you. I know I like it. Wow. This part of the blog sounds a little perverted. You people and you dirty minds shame on you! I just mean I like to be scared and scare people.

Does This Count as a Costume?

Originally posted Saturday, November 01, 2008

You know Halloween is like the only time you can get away with wearing badly applied makeup. So I decided to badly apply eyeliner. People will just think it's part of a costume or something. But it won't a be a costume like "badly applied eyeliner lady". That would just be silly. But I call dibs on that costume for future use. It was my idea. J/K.

My nails are polished all black and glossy. So elegant.

I was going to wear my witch dress, but I guess I gained a little more weight than I thought I did. It was really tight in the stomach area. It's a pretty old costume though. I've had it since the 90s. Maybe I need to buy a new one. It's all raggedy looking. Can I still find a modest witch dress costume? I don't want to pay a lot of money for it. I guess I could always try to make one or something. I was also planning on wearing a cape, but I decided not to. I ended up wearing my long black skirt with a black shirt and my black and white striped socks. I love my black and white striped socks. They are so cute! I don't know if I like my black and white striped ones or my red and white striped ones better. I should really buy a velvet hooded cloak. I think those are so elegant. "I would drape myself in velvet if it was socially acceptable." as George Costanza would say. I do love velvet. I think it's one of my favorite fabrics.

A lot of people didn't come to my house. I though a lot of people would since it was a Friday. There is still a bunch of candy left, but I can take care of that.

In non-Halloween related news I hurt my foot by having a vacuum fall on it while was vacuuming with no shoes on. I guess I should wear shoes when I vacuum now. I also managed to finish my review of Hi-Chew candy which will be up in a few days.

Last blog before school

Since this will be my last blog before I start up school again. I want to talk about some different things cause I know my return to school will bring some type of interesting story.

Valentines Day:

You know I'm not really big on starting up the new semester in late February because you get out in June. But I like it for 2 reasons; February sweeps (which didn't really matter this year because of the strike) and I don't have to be in school on Valentines Day.

The Writers' Strike:

I'm so glad it got resolved. To show my support I wasn't really watching any prime time besides WWE wrestling . The writers the WWE use aren't even in the WGA. So I thought it was "ok" to watch. I was getting by in January when the late night shows returned. I even have "strike bangs/fringe" well not really I've been growing out the nice little hack job I gave myself a little before Halloween.

To get by I tried to write fan fiction. I haven't done that on a while. I wrote one for The Office and 30 Rock. I never finished them. Here is a quick summary of the stories I wrote. For The Office one Kevin's band is featured in a local music tv show and Pam wins a trip for 2 (never determined the place in story) and Michael gets jealous because she won a prize. 30 Rock; due to the writers' strike the writers of TGS are on strike and picket outside the building. Tracy thinks they are protesting for some political cause. Jack is desperate for programming so he gets Kenneth to help him again.

What did I do to get by? I watched DVDs and videos of course. I mostly watched cartoons and my John Cena DVD. Plus his DVD gave me something "new" to watch while he was injured. I was either doing that or I was online. I still don't know what'll happen on Scrubs. I hope it all comes on tv, but if it doesn't I'll get the DVDs. I really want to know what happens at the end. I really hope JD and Elliot will get together. I'm a big supporter of that couple. I don't even know why I'm saying that they are fictional characters. I know a lot of people don't like to see all the couples they support. But if you are curious I'll tell you other ones from other shows I watch. Pleas don't ask about a show I don't watch like Lost because I'm not familiar with the couples on that show. I also want to know what that janitor's real name is. For some reason I think it has to do with or have a connection to The Picture of Dorian Gray. I also watched sports, real sports. I mostly watched bowl games and Laker games. I also got back to journaling on paper. Man I really missed that.

Week in review may or may not be back, it just depends on how much homework and "material" I have.

Let’s get Sporty with some Candy!

Originally posted on Thursday, October 02, 2008

It's already the first of October and it's still hot! I guess we can blame global warming for that. But with the beginning of October means there will be lots of candy floating around. One of my favorite things! I love candy! Today I started thinking about Halloween candy and I was craving a caramel apple pop. Now I have to go out an get some.

I'm also thinking about the baseball playoffs. The Dodgers and the Angels are in it. Wouldn't it be so cool it they ended up being in the World Series together? It's highly unlikely, but I would love to see it.

Sorry this blog is a little late I had 3 homework assignments due in 2 weeks. So the stuff in this blog is like 2 weeks old.

I know the title sounds like Engrish. I wanted it to sound like that.

Monday
I was planning to go to the Wrestlemania 24 press conference at Staples Center. But it would’ve been hard to get to Staples Center without a car. It’s so hard to get to the city. It would have been funny if I had gone and took unauthorized pictures of Cena with my camera phone and got it confiscated. But what I really want to know is my are they having a press conference here in Los Angeles instead of Florida?

When I was watching The People’s Court there were some that were made during the writers’ strike. I didn’t even know somebody wrote for that show. I just thought it was just the judge and the litigants. Anyway the part in the beginning before the case there is a part that goes "This is the plaintiff (name) and he/she says…" I had no idea somebody wrote that. The writers’ strike episodes have a scrolling message at the bottom that says it was made during the strike. I thought somebody just read the statements the litigants made. I know somebody had to write those lame case titles though.

Tuesday
When I start up school I have to eat a big breakfast. I took my old outdated radio because I’m taking a morning class which is a killer I like to listen to the Kevin and Bean show. The ride to school wasn’t that bad and I was feeling somewhat optimistic. I felt that way because I was starting a new semester. I usually start them with some degree of optimism. When I got off the bus I jumped off (and didn’t hurt myself). I usually only do this when I’m trying to get away from homeless people. When I got off the bus I saw there was a girl from one of my classes from last semester who I use to talk to. But I stood way behind her so she wouldn’t notice me because I forgot her name. It was really bothering me that I couldn’t remember it. Since I was at school a half hour early to make the roster I decided to walk around and see what was there. I went to where the food is sold just to see how much it went up since food prices are rising at all places including overpriced school food. A breakfast plate costs $6.50. I wondered how much food I could get for that much.

You have to get to class early to make the roster. Plus you have to fight it out with the people who want to add. When class finally started the teacher said it might be cancelled due to budget cuts. I didn’t really care I didn’t want to be there anyway. The worst thing was that I didn’t need the lecture and I could just take the lab. The counselor lied to me! (more about the counselors in another blog) I was really hoping the first class would be short, but she actually had us take notes and stuff. I was so bored. We got out of class when were suppose to.

Wednesday
I went to get my book for class and some worksheets for class. I had to get the worksheets at some copy store. The guy working there was pretty nerdy and said not to pretend we (my dad and I) were smarter than him. Why do I always run into nerdy people who work in stores?

I was reading this old article about John Cena and the funny thing was that it said that 6 years ago Cena talked like a surfer. I could not even imagine him talking like that. http://www.toromagazine.ca/1006/johncena/index.html

Thursday
When I got to school I was looking for napkins because I forgot to bring some from home and I had brought a messy snack with me to eat. I wish they put prices on the food they sell there like granola and energy bars. I want to know how much they are inflated. They do sell Jones Soda for $1.80 a bottle. I noticed that a breakfast bowl is $3.99 not as high as the $6.50 one, but that’s still expensive and I forgot to mention that neither of those include drinks. Couldn’t you get a fast food combo meal (sandwich/burrito side and drink) for about $3.99 or less? I also saw they were selling one orange for $1.25. I could get like a sack or oranges at the store for that much.

When I get to class I see this sign by the door that said "Book 4 Sell". For anybody who hasn’t been to college before; people who are selling old books that are usually at a cheaper price than the bookstore sells post signs all over campus advertising their book(s) and then there is some type of contact info like a phone number or an email address. Gotta love badly spelled signs at Junior College. It reminded me of the "I sale Mary Kay" sign I saw on a car in the school parking lot last year. I don’t remember if I blogged about that sign or not.

The lecture was long and boring and I was taking notes and writing. During one part of the lecture I wasn’t really paying attention to what I was writing and I tried to erase what I had written in pen because I was taking notes in pencil. The thing I hate about these long classes is that we don’t get a break. I mean if I didn’t plan my blogs and stuff in there I’d go nuts. My brain can’t take it. It’s mentally draining.

This one girl asked me about the lab book when I was talking to her I noticed she was wearing neon pink and green eye shadow. One color blended into the other which I thought would make brown. (red+green=brown) It reminded me a little on something Mimi would wear (from the Drew Carey Show) But that girl has her own look. I think she’s brave. I know I wouldn’t wear that.

Then it was time for lab. A 3 hour lab, a 3 hour lab. (sing to the tune of the Gilligan’s Island theme song) I have the same teacher for both classes. She told us that the class will usually take the whole 3 hours. Great!

I was working with 2 boys; we had to be in groups of 3. It wasn’t like the groups were chosen we picked them, so I just took the closest people. The funny thing about my group is that one of the guys is a math nerd. These types are a very interesting character. I find it hard to communicate with them since they see everything in mathematical terms, and I don’t. My old high school math tutor was like that. He reminded me of him in a lot of ways. I can’t do math very well. I can get by. I know how to do the 4 basic functions (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) I can also so fractions and some basic algebra. He was doing the equations we had to figure out in his head. The other guy and I were lost @o@. I had to work them out. I never do math in my head unless it’s something simple. The funny thing was that he was so confident in his answers. The teacher walked by and told my group our equations were wrong. I actually got a different answer than him, but I figured it was wrong because I’m not good at math. It takes balls to be so confident in a wrong math answer. I’m like "I don’t know if it’s right. Maybe? Let’s just move on to another problem." He was telling me about how much he enjoys math and that he takes calculus. That shot down the confidence I had in my math skills even more. He was telling me and the other guy about how easy math is (for him). I’m not going to say or pretend I’m good at something I’m not. Plus how could you fake being good at math?

When we were doing the lab the math guy said he would count backwards in Chinese and after he counted he said he was really counting backwards in Japanese like I would’ve noticed. I don’t remember much from Japanese even though I took it 1 year ago.

I had to go to the bathroom so I left the room when I got back to the room I passed that sign again and thought it would be funny to take a picture of it. This is when a camera phone comes in handy.

When class was over I saw that sign again so I went and I took a picture of it. Before I did I made sure nobody saw me in the hall doing that. I didn’t want anybody to think I was taking pictures of the school for other reasons. I had to take the picture twice because the first one didn’t come out. When I had the best picture I looked at it in my phone and laughed.

breaking news!

Originally posted on Wednesday, April 19, 2006

I just want to say as a preface that I don’t hate all reporters. I bet there are some really good ones out there. Apparently none of them were in my class. I didn’t like those reporters in my class because they were cliquish, boastful, loud, obnoxious, and snobby.

Ok well I know I had been stressing out about my wrestling paper for my comm. class. Well today was the day to present your work. I got lucky and drew a good number so I won't be able to present it until at least next class maybe even the class after that if I'm really lucky. That loud reporter girl was complaining about how she had stayed up all morning until 3AM editing thier presentaion. I was hoping the projecter would be broken so we couldn't play videos or DVDs. That reporter girl was so mad because she wanted the whole class to see what she did. Um...ok -_-

Then she changed her story and she was up until 4AM editing it. She was so mad she called that dreanged reporter teacher on her phone to get another room so she could show what she had made. So we had to go to another room.

The room we went to was my old stomping grounds. Well it was the room I used to have that deranged reporter teacher's class in. It brought back old memories. Of me coming in on Fridays after I had watched Smackdown and was busy thinking about Cena than listening to her anyway. Good old tweener Cena. I remember one time I chewed gum in there and it was upsetting her a lot. She kept throwing me dirty looks.

The good thing was that teacher wasn't in the room. That would've sucked. And me with no gum Finally that girl gets her show going. She was complaining about how they could've done something better with another person. Oh so sad.

Well they did a newsboradcast of news stories from the school. It was so bad it was funny. In the interview segments the people talking were being dround out by background noise. And they did a report on St. Pattie's day which was like a month ago. At the end she got mad and said we would know more about the school if we read the paper...-_-

No thanks!

Than she said that she kept flubbing her lines and cursing. My, my how unprofessional.

“Regret Nothing. Fear Less.”

I know I took the title of the blog from a Cena quote. Really before now I never really thought much of it. I just thought it was just another stupid quote he was using so they could put it on a new shirt design to sell. But now for some reason it’s speaking to me. I just want to also say that this blog is not about Cena. I was going to write about what happened all week, but I decided that this blog needed to stand alone. This happened on Tuesday.

I just want to say that I’m notorious for living in the past. I like reading old magazines, playing with old toys, watching old tv shows and listening to old music. Hell if I could I’d still be wearing round toed platform saddle shoes and some wide legged pants. But one can’t live in the past forever sometimes you just gotta look forward to the future, and tell yourself that the past is over and move on.

In the morning before school. I told myself I was going to the club rush and meet new people. This new feeling came over me. I can’t describe it. I feel like I’m willing to take risks. I’m not willing to take extreme risks like skydiving. I mean like talking to and meeting new people or trying something different.

I stayed where I was because I was in a comfortable rut. You can’t wait for things to change you have to make it change. Before my motto use to be "something will happen eventually" which is a bad motto to have.

In class I was using my prior knowledge of 11th grade chemistry. I got all caught up in thinking about ionic bonds. I mean that was like one of the few things I learned in chemistry. Even though I had taken chemistry like 7-8 years ago I was still confused. She had us do a work sheet. I did it wrong at first, but then I spent a long time working on it. I got too caught up in how to read the periodic table in a certain way. Like the noble gasses and the most stable because they have the most electrons and really don’t need anymore. I was hoping I would get out of class early so I could go and see the clubs.

When I got to the club booths I was thinking of going straight to the anime booth. The funny thing was there was this guy talking to somebody else and he said he watched 80% of all the anime. Does he realize how much that is? I’m there to join a club and meet new people and not "out fan" them. I realized that risk of running into clingy otakus or even running into the otakus from the Japanese class I took last year. I’m willing to take that chance. I thought nothing was going to happen if I just sat around and waited for something to happen. I signed up. They wanted your email and phone number, but I only gave my email address. If they want they can contact me by email. I’ll go to the meetings if it fits into my schedule.

There is a person from my past who hurt me and I just want to tell them I forgive them. I don’t know why you did what you did and maybe I won’t ever understand it, but I’m ready to put the past behind me. And if you are reading this my door is always open if you want to talk there are no burned bridges here.

So in one of my previous blogs I mentioned the "Run Baby Run" video. I have I mentioned it before that blog? I can't remember.

Forgive me as I gush over this video. I love it! It's one of my favorite Garbage ones. Shirley looks so pretty in it. There is this one shot of her with a bandanna over her mouth and you can just focus on her gorgeous lime green wide set eyes. The best part is when she is eating fries and the scene when she is shoplifting. She wears some pretty green glittery high heels in the video. Wearing high heels brings her closer to the gods. I want some shoes like that, but in a different color like red or black. I guess I could make my own imitation shoes. :P LOL!

My mom makes fun of me when I watch that video because I watch it with my face cupped in my hands.

I remember the first time I watched that video. I had a wacky dream about Shirley helping me move. She was wearing this navy blue outfit and those shoes from the video. They were a different colors they were green, blue and purple.

The origin of my pikachu

Originally posted on July, 5, 2006

Since I have been taking a lot of pictures of my stuffed pikachu. I thought I should tell the story of how I got it. The day before I got it I had gone to the mall and Pokémon where everywhere. This was back in 1999, so they were still really popular. After going to the mall I went to Target and I saw the cutest stuffed pikachu, but I didn't have enough money for it. The next day my dad took me shopping for a bunch of different things I got a new radio, Pokémon school supplies and the stuffed pikachu. But the one reason I really remember the day I got it was because there were a lot of teen girls at the Target waiting to meet the boy band MDO.

When I first got the pikachu I couldn't stop playing with it. I use to put it on my radio. I like watching tv with it. At first we use to watch Who Wants to be a Millionaire? It's well traveled too. Its been to my grandmas house (smuggled in a backpack) and on my 2 family vacations to Laughlin and Las Vegas.

I love dressing it up. Ive dressed it up in a bowtie, top hat, baby bib, pink hair, necklaces, and a chain.

Vintage Simpsons Merchandise

Ever since I can remember it The Simpsons has been popular and had varying degrees of merchandise. There is some other vintage merchandise that I have/had a purple Simpsons backpack with Homer and Bart on it, I have also seen a teal colored one with Lisa and Bart on it. I still have the backpack. A color your own poster set. You know those sets that come with 2 uncolored pictures of something and you get a pack of markers or crayons to color it. When I had got the set I had used up the little markers that came with it so fast. I threw the set away because I accidentally spilled food on them. Burger King camping promo toys I have the Lisa one I forgot I had it for a while because I couldn't find it for 2 years after I moved. None of the items mentioned in the blog are for sale.

The Simpsons Pencil Tin

It's metal and it's a little rusty. I don't remember exactly when I got it, but I'll say between 91 and 92. It came with three items inside; a Bart pencil, a ruler and something else I forget. As you can see since this is an earlier Simpsons item Lisa's clothes aren't the right color on the front she has red pearls and on the back she is wearing a blue dress. Bart is depicted with a blue shirt. I tried to get a picture/scan of the pencil but it didn't come out.

Simpsons Puffy Stickers

I forget when I got these too, but the are vintage pre-1993 for sure. They aren't in the package because I decided to put them in my sticker album. I have no idea if there were more than the ones I have in the album. I know I was pretty small when I got them because I couldn't read some of the words in the little dialogue balloons.

Since this is a scan from my sticker album you will see some non-Simpsons stickers like the poinsettia one, the rodeo one, the Dodger koala (who I can find no information on, but that's another blog for another time), and the Chef one. He use to be a mascot for Kid Cuisine.

The funny thing about the pencil tin and the stickers is that I cannot find them listed on the Simpsons collectors site.

Week in Review- The Suburban Juror (not rural)

Originally posted on Tuesday, March 13, 2007

Tues-

My hair was really frizzy because I put it into a bun they night before when it was damp. My hair was in a high frizzy ponytail. It looked like Cherry's hair. I took some beef jerky I brought from home and it was stinking up my backpack. It smells like jerky now. I also took my clipboard because there is so little desk space. But I have to conceal it since I put a Sailor Moon sticker on it so I would know it's mine. I don't want anybody to see that sticker and find out I like Sailor Moon. I actually made it to class on time today because I didn't have to go and buy jerky at the store. When I get to class I see that otaku guy, but I don't recognize him. He cut his hair, but he denies it. Later in class he admits he did cut his hair, but it was so obvious it was a absurd. He was saying that if somebody keeps telling you something is wrong you'll believe it obviously he hasn't dealed with my dad. He also said he cut his hair for $1000, hell for $1000 I'd shave my head Britney Spears style. We are learning how to write Hiragana, and it's hard. I can't write the symbol for "a" very well. I ended up writing it backwards. But I did the most important thing when I learned to write it. I used a pencil. We also learned words in Hiragana, but I can't read them, yet. I hate those stupid little desks in the class I almost knocked mine over while I was sitting in it. I also noticed that the little tabletop part flips up. I think it's built like that and it's not broken.

The bad news was when I got home I got a jury summons and I would have to be a juror, a rural juror. I don't think there are many rural areas in my county if any, so I will be the suburban juror. My mom told me I could go during spring break and serve, the only problem is I have no spring break. At first I didn't even realize this. My dad kept bugging me about taking a vacation during my spring break, but I didn't exactly know when mine was. So I can only serve after I'm done with my semester.

Wed-
It was a hot day and I was thinking about cutting my hair. After last year I decided to cut my hair really short, what I consider really short and then grow it long in the winter. The bad this is that when I cut it short I like to wear odangos, but not like the ones Serena/Usagi wears with them more like the way Dorie/Doremi or Corina/Mint would wear them. But I can still wear pigtails those don't look too otaku-ish. I was also thinking about cutting my sideburns. They are always getting in the way, but I thought if I did cut them they'll grow back longer and thicker and I'll look like Sailor Jupiter or Icy.

I was also thinking about since I don't get a spring break I was wondering if I should really sign up for 4 classes and be a full time student. I'm so close to being done with general education I can taste it. And if I be a full time student for the next 2 semesters, (fall 07 and spring 08) and pass my classes I'll be done. So I decided how this semester goes with me only taking 2 classes first and then decide.

My life management class is uncomfortable they want us to talk about really personal things, so I decided if it's too personal to go in the blog it's too personal to be talked about in class. She thought a lot of people didn't read the book because we weren't discussing it. I did read the book, but it was so boring I forgot what I had read.

Thurs-

The teacher was late and I was bored waiting around. The bad thing was that otaku girl sat behind me. It's not really that bad, aside for her talking and I caught her taking a peek in my open backpack (not opening it). I shouldn't be worried there isn't really anything interesting in there anyway, nothing too otaku-ish.

We were learning some English loan words. Those are pretty easy. I'm still having trouble reading and writing Hiragana. Those 2 otakus got into a discussion about anime again when we learned the word "inu" which means dog and this girl brought the subject of Inuyasha. Which lead into a full blown anime discussion. Then some other people were naming other animes and the otaku girl was snobbing the most of the animes named. She said Digimon is crap. Now I wouldn't say it's crap, but it isn't that good. But I don't snub animes. Hey if you like Digimon, great. Cause I know there haters out there for every anime ever made. Dragonball haters, Pokemon haters, Inuyasha haters, Voltron haters, Sailor Moon haters, One Piece haters, Naruto haters, and so on. So this one girl says that Sailor Moon is the girls' version of Dragonball. So the otaku girl who was sitting behind me was saying that Sailor Moon is more "dark and twisted" than Dragonball. I really don't know I'm not a Dragonball fan. I've seen a few Z episodes, but that's about it. Those 2 girls were really getting into that discussion and talking over the teacher. They were really getting into the Sailor Moon discussion talking about the "cousins" and what they really are, the difference between Chibi Chibi and Rini/Chibiusa and other elements from the series. She was saying about how the manga is better than the anime, and I agree. She says she likes the Stars season/saga. I'm familiar with Stars. I mean I know the plot, but I've never seen it or read the manga. When it was break time so they left the room to carry on the discussion. Since I wasn't in on the discussion I didn't leave the room, plus I was still working on my Hiragana and I needed help from the teacher. When they came back the girl said she is not an otaku because they are way more into anime and manga than her, and if she not then I must be otaku extra lite. Then they said not to say anything bad in front of a Sailor Moon fan girl which they totally were, but didn't know, and I didn't want them to. Plus they were acting like all the fan girls would get pissed if they talked ill of Sailor Moon. Just for the record we are all not like that. After class I asked the teacher what "Dotch" meant and I was saying I wanted to know because my mom watches The Dotch Cooking Show (subtitled), the teacher said she knows that show with the red kitchen and the yellow kitchen.

Fri-

I bought a box of Almond Crush Pocky to try. At first I was reluctant to buy it since it costs more than regular Pocky (the chocolate one in the red box). When I tried it, I thought it tastes better than regular Pocky and is worth more.

LOLZ! Like Don’t totally say that!

Since costumes are way too expensive. I mean you pay $40 for a costume made of polyester and it's less durable than real clothes you can get for $40. Especially women's outfits they are so skimpy now and they cost more!? I don't get it. I have to confess I haven't gotten a Halloween costume in over 10 years. Personally I have a hard time finding costumes I like. I feel they are the same boring ones every year. Plus it's hard to be creative with a boring old mass produced costume. So I've been getting accessories for years now. They are fun and not as expensive as a whole costume. I know you can make some accessories yourself, but sometimes it's just better to leave it to the companies who make them because some items are way too complicated to make and you could just alter most of the store bought items.

I splurged on 2 items this year. The 1st are the pink and gold fairy wings. Those are sort of a replacement for some white and silver ones I might or might not have. They are somewhere in the great abyss of the garage. I haven't seen them for years. I only paid 99 cents for those and those are the good ones that have wire. Usually for around 99 cents you can get those cheap wings that are made of organza and tulle. These came with a cheap little wand. I guess to signify they are fairy wings. I don't really care about the wand, but it's a nice little extra. When I took them out of the package they were a little dirty, but I don't mind I can just cover the dirty spots with some glitter. I could use glitter glue or loose glitter. Sorry there are no pictures I didn't have time.

I also got some skeleton gloves for $1.99. They are a little big for my really small hands, but that just makes them look creepier. The bones are made of puffy screen print. I was thinking I could really build a costume around these. But I won't be using them this year.

I'm already thinking about my costume for next year. I'm thinking about being Meg from Family Guy. I just need to get some glasses, a pink hat and a pink shirt.

A Moving Blog

I'm moving and I think it's bittersweet. First I thought it was bad. Then I remembered all the things I really don't like about where I live. But there will also be bad things about the new place I'm moving to. I'm trying to be optimistic about it as much as possible. Which is really hard for me. I'm not a very optimistic person. Well I start off really optimistic about something and then my optimism dies very quickly.

Well I will be closer to the bus station. I'm already to take on driving again. I feel inspired to try it again. I want to learn a new skill. I haven't attempted driving since I was 18. At first I was very eager to do it. I was a little upset because most of my peers were driving at like 12 or 14. I mean it was like a rite of passage you pass 8th grade, and you learn how to drive. Even though it's totally illegal for a 14 year old to drive a car in my state. I didn't even start taking Driver's ED classes until I turned 18. After I passed the written part of the test. The funny thing is that the only thing I remember about it was that there was some little kid in the DMV office with a Sailor Pluto doll.

I was scared at the thought of doing it, and I was so nervous when I actually got behind the wheel and drove. I went to a crappy driving school, and I didn't learn much. All I did was steer the car. She would do the petals. The training car had 2 sets of petals. I mostly ended up running errands for the teacher. I was so frustrated I never ended up taking the driving test.

Not being able to drive as been one of my secret shames. I use to just let people assume I ride the bus because I'm poor. That's not really a lie I am poor, or let them assume I didn't have access to a car. Please don't count me out. Plus if I can drive I can go to all the meet and greets and signings I want to if I have access to a car.

Here's a list of some of the things I will miss:
Having a clothes dryer
Having an air conditioner
Having 2 bathrooms
Having a lemon tree
Having a larger bedroom
Living near a good Dollar Tree the one that I'll live near is ghetto

Here's a list of things I won't miss:
The neighbors I don't like (there were some cool neighbors too)
Having a bedroom that faces the street
Not Having a front window, there is no front window because of the attached garage
Having a small closet
Having my bedroom door hit my closet door when ever it was opened (seriously my bedroom was so horribly designed)
"Cottage cheese" ceilings (I don't know what they are really called)

She was in 2 scenes in Mousetrap. I like the way they style her hair in the show it's like a pompadour. Well I guess she has to have very CEO-like hair. At least she has dialogue in this episode not like the last one.

Guess what I'm not doing tomorrow? I'm not going to the Ferguson taping. Too bad I really wanted to go Shirley is going to be a guest on the show. It will be fun to see her interact with Ferguson since they are both Scottish.

I remember back when Kilborne use to host the show and she was a guest. This was way back like in 1998. Anyway I really didn't think about this interview until I got that Garbage CD and for some reason. Anyway he asks her about Scottish food and she's talking about haggis and that you cut it open with a sword.

It's on youtube.

Some Common Misconceptions About Me

I am sexually attracted to Gwen Stefani because I say that I "love" her.

My "love" for Gwen is more admiration I don't love her in a romantic way. I hate when people take it the wrong way. The English language only has one form of the word "love". I mean do you really "love" spaghetti that much? So it is hard to say you "love" something without having to convey the level of love some languages have more than one form of the word "love", like Greek.

Because I like cartoons I am "slow"

This misconception really pisses me off. People have been assuming this about me for over 10 years now. At first it use to really, really piss me off. But then I decided that they were not going to change and so I shouldn't either. There are some whispers *secret cartoon fans*.

I was a No Doubt fan before I was a Blondie fan

This is so common the bad thing is that nobody believes me because most people who know me met me after I became a No Doubt fan. The origins of my Blondie fandom is that when I was in 2nd grade I really didn't know what kind of music I liked I didn't like New Kids on the Block like all the other girls in my class did. I was looking for something different. So one day I was telling my mom about this problem and she put some Blondie for me and thought I would like it. I use to constantly listen to "The Best of Blondie" and I think I drove my mom crazy. I did learn the words to "Rapture" really quickly though.

I like the color yellow because of pikachu

I don't even like the color yellow. I like pikachu because it's pikachu. It could pink, red, green, blue, even polka dotted! It's just a cute pokemon.

Ok so I watched that Terminator show first the time ever. I had never seen any Terminator show or movie before ever. I think I watched part of an episode from the first season while NBC was boring me with like 48 continuous minutes of Olympic diving.

I thought I would just watch the show to see Shirley Manson's debut in acting. I have to say I was impressed by her work.

The show is ok I guess. I'm a little lost since I have no knowledge of it. I was just trying to get a feel for it. This is not the kind of show you just jump into watching like a comedy show.

I like the Catharine Weaver character. She is a total bitch. She had a cool hair style too. But the best part was when she was a toilet. If you did not see the episode this makes no sense to you, and is pretty much a spoiler. I'm not on a cruise, but I'm freaked out. You won't see anything like this on Gossip Girl. If you put in the phrase "Shirley Manson Urinal" in a search engine it comes up with some interesting results.

I feel sorry for that John kid. He had a horrible birthday, and I thought being harassed by a group of girls in your sixth grade class was a horrible birthday.

Not My Box of Pocky

Category: School, College, Greek
Originally posted on April 9, 2008

I was excited about going to my anime club meeting. I was a little nervous, but it was a good nervous. For an anime club meeting I only took one thing with me, Japanese snack food. A box of Koala’s March cookies the chocolate filled ones. I wanted to eat them during the viewing like I would’ve done at my old anime club if I would have been able to find some. Plus they are a quiet food.

When I went to where the club was suppose to meet up I just wanted to be really low key about it. So I just walked slowly to the back corner of the room and sat down. Then the leaders of the club had to yell in the room that everybody who was there for the club meeting to round them up. They said that we were not meeting in the place that we were at.

As we were walking as a club to the room we were going to meet up at they were talking about things from the last meeting since I was not at the last one I had no idea what was going on. We were walking down this hallway and some of the members started yelling and screaming. The leader had to tell them to stop because people were having class near by. Some of the members wanted to do what they wanted with out consent from the club. I don’t know how many clubs they have been in before, but you just can’t do that in any club.

I sat in the back of the room I wanted to be low key again. I like to sit towards the back at club meetings. The guy who is the staff leader was telling us about what we can and can’t do. Like you can’t show a movie to more than 10 people or it’s an exhibition. Does that mean if you have a party and you run a movie in the background you can charge people? The good thing was that he dissed the "purists" and said that if you really wanted a pure anime you would watch it unedited in Japanese and understand it. He said that even subs are mistranslated and well everybody knows about the dubs. He was saying that you should watch an anime that makes you think. But I’m not really into overanalyzing stuff sometimes I just want to watch mindless entertainment. He said he really doesn’t like American cartoons because they are not drawn very well. I don’t care about how well something is drawn just as long as the story has me. He was saying about all those "cookie cutter" anime like Dragon Ball and Naruto. But I really like those. Well not those series specifically, but I do like my cookie cutter magical girl anime. That is my favorite sub-genre. But he said some kid’s anime are good. But he likes stuff like Ghost in the Shell.

After the club leaders introduced themselves people were trying to get the anime they brought shown. This one guy brought a whole bunch of stuff. He had shopping bags filled with DVDs and video games. He had one of these small novelty lockers filled with PS1 games. Every time somebody would mention a series or genre he would pull out a DVD. It was like he was trying to prove something. You know I use to be that way back then when I was in my first anime club. But now I feel you don’t need to prove anything to anyone. Not even to other fans even though some fans can get really judgmental.

Some other people were watching DVDs on somebody’s computer. It was really loud, but I didn’t recognize it. They were talking about going to Anime Expo and Comic Con. They were going to get rooms for the local convention. They said to save money they would scam the hotel and put 6 people in a 4 person room. I know how hard it is to do that with people you know. I think it would be harder with strangers. I was really bored and tired during the meeting. I wasn’t interested in going to the conventions.

I couldn’t believe I had to pay club dues. It was $10. I thought it was free. Why should I have to pay $10? I already pay so much in student activities fees. That was it. I was officially out of the club.

They passed around a paper where the members could suggest anime to be shown. When I got the paper I saw there were a lot of joke anime listed by other members. I was going to write a cliché metaseries like Sailor Moon or Pokemon, but I didn’t I wrote a different one. An old one that I use to watch in my old club. They went back into talking about the convention and saying about how you need to go to one and how great it is. I mean it would be nice to go to one. But going to one is not one of my main priorities right now. They said that if you have never been to a convention you don’t know what you are missing. I don’t know another thing I like to do is go to a Wrestlemania, but that is not anime related. They were saying about getting club discounts at different anime stores in the area. I can get discounts for stores I don’t really shop at. I haven’t been to an anime store in years. I’ll say in 7-8 years. When the meeting was finally over I couldn’t wait to go home.

When I got home I decided to go to the yard sale my neighbors were holding down the street. I was looking for some good retro deals. I didn’t find any. I did get this dog candle they were selling for $1. When I first saw it I thought it was a figure or statue. She lady selling it to me said it was new, but it looked old and yellowed. There is a little black on the nose missing. But I plan to fix that. I like it. I think it’s kitschy.

Robots Don’t Bleed, but Cows Do

The Tower is Tall But the Fall is Short has to be one of the best episodes I've seen of the 2nd season since the season 2 premiere; Samson and Delilah. I was worth waiting like 2 weeks for even if the Dodgers were in the playoffs, but didn't make it to the World Series. But I have to give an honorable mention to Allison from Palmdale which is also a great episode.

This was good episode for the character development of Catharine and Savannah. At least we know that Savannah is not a robot since she peed on the floor. I'm not sure how old she is. I'd say like 5. She couldn't tie her shoes. Her mom should just buy her slip-ons. Those are really stylish in the time frame of the show. My little cousin who's 7 wears them. Plus they are good if you are too lazy to tie your shoes. Or even get her some Velcro shoes. This is going off into a totally different topic.

The part in the beginning when they tell Catharine to smile she made the weirdest face. It she looked so uncomfortable. Of course robots don't have emotions and terminators don't really smile. Which I thought was funny since Shirley usually makes silly faces or smiles in the photos she takes unless she is looking serious or something.

I have a theory about Savannah. I think she could go against her fake 1001 mother and become a resistance fighter.

When John went to therapy after he got a "powder burn" from a gun. Which might or might not have been a suicide attempt. Going to therapy is better "than trying to take a bullet from a gun." When the therapist saw that burn on John he said he burned himself by boiling water for pasta. I think she should have said that he burned himself frying something like bacon. I remember this one time I got a really nasty burn from cooking bacon.

It was cool that they made reference to Shirley's hometown of Edinburgh. Maybe because that's what her accent is. I can't really distinguish different types of Scottish accents. I wonder why doesn't Savannah have a Scottish accent if her parents did?

They are also dressing the Catharine Weaver character in better clothes. That white coat she wore in her premiere episode was kind of tacky looking. It looked like a lab coat. Even the gray dress she wore in the promo poster/pictures was better than that white coat. I liked that outfit she was wearing with the white turtleneck and gray jumper (dress). She can't be wearing rocker clothes like she would on stage. They have to keep the colors of her clothes muted. She wears a lot of white and grays.

She looks great with side bangs. My mom told me Shirley looks good with bangs, and I have to agree with my mom on this one. They made her hair look professional yet trendy. She was wearing the same old hair style for like 5 episodes even though I did like it she needed a different hairstyle. Her hair looked nice and brassy.

I laughed so hard when Catharine said that her favorite smell as a child was cow's blood. Only a robot could get away with saying something like that.

When I put it on for the first time I had to put it on a toenail since I already had dark purple nail polish on my fingernails. It's almost an exact match to Acid Rain. It's not as iridescent as Acid Rain, but I couldn't see it really well on my foot. With a multi glitter top coat it'll look great. It's hard to find an iridescent powder blue nail polish that doesn't have a silvery sheen or undertones in it.

Sorry the photo didn't come out very well. It's hard to photograph a bottle of nail polish without getting glare.

This blog is talking about things that happened 2 weeks ago. I also want to say that the old video I talk about belongs to my teacher and I will not steal it and post it on youtube or anything. I remember once I posted on a message board about an old Slimgoodbody poster that use to be in some room in my old school like in the early 90s and somebody wrote back to me to go to my old school and steal the poster because they loved Slim and educational programming so much.

I’m riled and fired up! A lot of things happened to me and I want to talk about them! I really didn’t want to go to the lecture part of my class. I really feel that I don’t need it anyway and it’s not that important to me. The funny thing was I almost got a twisted wish because the bus almost broke down on the way there. I got to class late and somebody was sitting in the good seat I like. I sat behind the seat I usually sit in but the desktop was too small so I ended up sitting in the next row.

Then we watched an old video while the teacher was queuing it up there was an old PSA on it and she fast forwarded past the speaking part of it. There was an old graphic that said "Don’t let your lungs go to pot". It was white lettering in like a orangey yellow circle. I thought this PSA was funny and intriguing. I wondered how old that PSA was. I wondered if I could find it on you tube or something. Then after that there was an old KLCS station ID bumper. Personally to my recollection I had never seen a KLCS logo that looked like that. It was gold lettering on a blue background and a voice said something like "this is KLCS channel 58." When I saw that it made me think of that old logo they use to use with the red and green light beams that they use to use for Body Buddies and It Figures. I was way more interested in the old tape and when it was recorded (year) than the boring old chemistry film on it. The tape we were watching was on an old tape and the film that KLCS was showing was an old film at the time the tape was recorded. The film looked like it had to be like from the 50s or 60s. It was in color. It was like those old science films they make fun of on Bill Nye. The bad thing was that we also had to fill out a study guide and answer questions about the video. The video went really fast and I was still feeling distracted. The teacher told us we could only use the video to fill out the study guide and you couldn’t get the information from anywhere else.

Before my lab test I just wanted to eat and have my "breddy" food. Which was a sandwich. I was also planning what I was going to do later in the day. I was trying to figure out when the CSUF game would be on. I had no idea, but I knew it would be .. school since it was on against the Laker game. I had to get prepared for the test, but I wasn’t really. I was just sort looking over my notes. I made a few doodles before my test because making doodles or drawings before a test really de-stresses me. I drew a silly little doodle of Cena. I thought the test was hard even though you could use your notes mine were not that good. After the test you were to group up in random groups in order of when you finished the test. I think I finished in the middle not too slow and not too fast.

I ended up working with some girl I didn’t know. She was so mad about the fur we had to use. But we had to use real fur because fake fur doesn’t have the same properties as real fur. The teacher said it was bunny fur. I’m no expert on fur or anything (I don’t own any), but I can pretty much tell real from fake. Real fur feels like petting a real animal and the ones we were using had skin on the back. Fake feels like a plush stuffed animal like a Care Bear. The girl refused to touch or use it because it was real bunny fur with skin on the back and because she’s a vegetarian. She wouldn’t even touch the stuff that touched the fur. Ok I know fur is bad, but you gotta get the work done which meant I had to do practically all the work by myself. I do believe some animal rights things like the irradiation of the handsome cabs, KFC and the conditions of the chickens, and cows being killed for leather and being left to rot. When she told me all of that it made me think of this funny episode of 5 Questions (the November 24, 2006 edition) where Cena tells a vegetarian who is also named John Cena who wants to bulk up to go and kill an animal to eat. I also thought about the Reel Big fish song "Say Ten" that is a really silly song. My cousin and I really like it. Song and 5 Questions episode not recommended for vegetarians or the faint of heart. Then 2 other girls come and work by us and she tells them the deal with the fur. One of the girls asks her if she is a member of Peta, but she says she’s not. We had to build this thing with PVC pipes and she couldn’t pull them apart, but I could because I eat meat. Ok maybe not, but for some reason people think I look burly. I’m not I just have fat arms. She wasn’t much help at all even with the non fur stuff. I caught her texting at least 2 times.

That girl is really shallow because she said she doesn’t like the teacher because she’s ugly. The more and more she talked the more I didn’t like her. I mean just because your teacher is ugly doesn’t mean they are unapproachable. I think the teacher is somewhat approachable. She wanted to quickly finish up the work and leave.

It was funny when another girl came up to her and told her she had a nice hair cut. I personally thought it was too trendy and ugly. She was dressed way too trendy with her skinny jeans and canvas flats. To me I don’t know she just seemed fake and shallow to me.

I don’t even know how this happened, but she managed to finish before. I had to stay another 15-20 minutes because my answers were "wrong". I don’t even see how they were. We wrote like the same thing. Then I really started to lose it. I don’t know if the teacher thinks I’m dumb or something, but this has happened to me like 2-3 times. I’m including this incident. When I finally got it right I noticed as time progresses in the class the teacher becomes less lenient on your answers. I was happy because I could finally leave and watch basketball. I was just waiting for the CSUF game.

When I got home I checked to see if it was on. I had no idea when it would start because there is no real start time for those games especially one late in the day. They start a little after the next one. I kept checking. The USC Trojan game was before theirs and it was played at the same place. So I had to wait for that one to end first. The Trojans lost. Then it was time for the CSUF game. All kinds of basketball was on; college with UCLA and CSUF and the professional Lakers. The feed on channel 56 KDOC started at 6:30. They had to put the KDOC logo to show that was not CBS. Before the game started 56 KDOC and 2 KCBS were showing the same feed. The game started off good at first CSUF was ahead, but they only were for like the first 5 minutes. If I looked hard enough I could see Tuffy in the corner of the court in the background. The bad thing was that since Wisconsin is a more well know school than CSUF they were showing more love and camera time to the Wisconsin cheerleaders, mascot and band. When the CSUF band was shown they were on for like a second and they covered up by advertising graphics. CSUF is more of a baseball school even the commentators said that. They never came back from their deficit, and they lost. So that sucked. When I was watching the UCLA game I was rooting for them because if I would’ve been smarted and had better grades in high school I would’ve gone there. But you know what they UC students say about the Cal State schools. "Cal State schools are for the UC rejects". Which I think is partially true. I was exhausted from everything that happened that day I fell asleep at 9:30.

In my personal opinion that lab activity is outdated and should not be done anymore due to the use of fur.

Can you believe I’m actually blogging about sports? Real sports. Well I just want to say congratulations to the Cal State Fulleton Titans who got the number 14 seed in the Big West Conference. They haven’t been in it since 1978 which was way before I was born. Even though they are a Division II school they play Division I schools.

Even though I only went to that school for 1 year I always root for the Titans.

Go Titans!

What Happened to Gwen?

Ok if you really want to know what's with all this obsessing over Shirley Manson lately. Here's a little secret about me. My fandoms come and go in cycles. So for like a few months I'll be all into something and then it will die down and I will be into something else. Like in the beginning of the year I was all into John Cena especially after he came back from his injury at the Royal Rumble.

Actually my fandom for Garbage/Shirley was dormant for many years. But after I got that Garbage CD in August I wanted to know about Shirley. At first I just wanted to know basic stuff about her like her hometown and birthday. But then I started reading about her past and I don't know I can't really explain it or anything, but somehow I related to it. I found her to be an interesting tragic figure. I find it hard for me to put into words why I like her.

Remember when I wrote all those inane blogs about all those Garbage songs?

I also looked over my paper writings that documented the beginning of this fandom. In my August 19 entry of 2008 (this year). I found this really silly quote about when people meet Shirley. "I think they're a little shocked at first. Then they start laughing or grinning or shaking my hand." In response to it I wrote "I was thinking if I ever met her I just want to give her a big hug." I also wrote that the fan letter I was writing to her back in August I had no intention of giving to her.

Recently I reread what I wrote and it was so ironic to read. Especially what I thought would happen if I met her, and what really did. Like gasping at the sight of her and telling her "I love you!" repeatedly.

Too bad Shirley wasn't wearing this shirt when I met her.

Not that there was anything wrong with the outfit she was wearing.

I don't hate No Doubt/Gwen or anything the fandom has just gone dormant for a while. Actually my No Doubt fandom went dormant in like mid to late 1998 when they weren't really doing anything. That's around the time I became obsessed with Pokemon, especially pikachu. I like Gwen and Shirley very much and they are both awesome women in their own way.

Here's some funny pictures of Gwen's sizzling Halloween costume. She had a really cool hair style. I'll have to steal it. :P

The New Host

I was going to post this 2 days ago, but I ended up posting a blog about No Doubt.

I'm excited that Jimmy Fallon was named as Conan O'Brien's successor. Unlike most people for some reason I thought when Fallon looked into the camera and giggled during all his skits was funny. It kind of reminded me of when I use to take French in high school and we had to do skits in French. I was really bad at them and I would mess up all my lines and giggle through the whole thing.

I wonder if he will giggle through his whole monolog? Or if he'll even have one.

I have a confession to make a bout Jimmy Fallon. When I was in high school I use to have a big crush on him. Well I still do. But that's not to say that I don't have other celebrity crushes like John Cena.

Conspiracy and theories and my life

Originally posted on February, 21, 2006

I don't care about conspiracies and theories. (yes I'm addressing these as 2 seprate subjects) Why are people always pushing them on you? Why? If I need to hear about a theory I'll ask about one.

Sometimes when people start talking about them for no reason I'm just standing there like this -_- thinking "This sucks! I don't even want to hear this."

I think a lot of people my age are pessimists. We don't like anything or anybody. Well I mean you can't like everything and people who say they do can't.

Ok maybe I sound like an old timer here.

I know some people want to know what some other people have been up to since high school. I'm just going to point at my headline on the top of my profile page. That's what I live by on here. And maybe a little Hustle. Loyalty. and Respect.

The Brown Haired Pessimist

I stole the title from somebody. :P

Terminator is moving to Friday nights in February. That is like a death sentence for that show. But everything gets shifted around when American Idol starts. I'm not trying to be pessimistic about this. I wish Shirley and everybody else who works on the show well. The thing that sucks is that it's on against wrestling again!

You know what would be cool? If Shirley made a guest appearance on American Idol as a guest like her buddy Gwen did. Of course I'm not sure what she would be promoting on the show musically since she doesn't have a label. Maybe she could sing "Samson & Delilah" or something. See? I am smart. I should be her agent. LOL!

Actually I don't even want to think that far ahead to February. I don't even want to think about the end of this month. Seriously I just want this month to be over with the way things have been lately.

Ramen Revolution

Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities Originally posted on May 10, 2008

So on Sunday April the 28th I saw a commercial for this show called Ramen Revolution. At first I thought the commercial was for Anime Expo. So later on in the day I did some research to see what this show was about from what I read it's an otaku culture show.

So I decided to give it a chance and watch it. All I can say is "Huh?" . That show blew me away, but not in a good way. It blew me away with how bad it was. The only part I really liked was the part when the teacher talked about making paper cranes. The skits were boring and uninspired. The guy ranting about the editing of anime on American television was hilarious. I know that was suppose to be like the serious part, but I thought it was really funny. It's nothing I haven't heard before.

This is a revolution I don't want to be a part of.

Cena Fan

I was at the 99 Cents store yesterday and I was wearing my Cena shirt. At the check out line I wanted to know how much some candy was. The guy at the checkout told me they were 4 for 99 cents so I ran back to candy aisle to get another candy. When I get back into the line he asks me if I like John Cena. I thought he was going to say he hates Cena or something like that. But he said he's a Cena fan too. Then he started listing Cena's moves. He said he likes the 5 Knuckle Shuffle which is my favorite Cena move too. He started to brush off his shoulder like Cena does. He asked me if I've seen Cena live, but then my mom (who was with me) said that I waited 8 hours to meet him. He said he waited 10 hours to meet Cena and have him sign a shirt at a house show. He told me he likes Cena because he's respectful to the fans. When we left I was thinking about telling the guy some silly or trite Cena phrase like "Word Life", but I didn't. The funny thing is that he's a male fan who's over the age of 10. So they do exist! I met this fan in person and not over the internet.

This reminded me of when I bought some shoes last year and I was wearing a Cena shirt and the guy who worked at the store asked me if I also liked The Rock. I said no because I didn't really follow wrestling when he was around.

I found this great shirt online. I would totally buy it. Here's a picture of the shirt sorry the link wasn't working.

If you know me by know you know I do maybe too much. And this is not me kissing his ass either. This is true, genuine and coming from the heart. Anyway in my last blog I posted about wearing black well I killed 2 birds with 1 stone and I wore my Cena shirt because I love him. and because it's black. My new signature Valentine's color. Back in junior high I tried doing this same with a No Doubt shirt, but nobody got the joke. How sad.

Un Valentines Day Memories

Current mood: annoyed

I know this is a day late, but it took me a while to actually type this out. Valentines day and I have had a bad track record over the years. Some statements are things I have never revealed until now. My Asiaphile blog will be back next week.

4th grade:

My class had a contest for making Valentines mailboxes, I made the sorriest looking box in the class. The kid who made the winning box, didn't even look like a mail box. And it looked like he didn't build it himself.

5th grade:

My teacher was a bitch and got mad about something I forgot what, but she was so mad the class that she cancelled Valentines day on Valentines day morning. We weren't allowed to pass out valentines and she didn't want to see us doing it secretly either. We did pass them out during recess and lunch, but nobody cared about my valentines they just wanted the candy I was handing out.

6th grade:

I had planned to go to a valentines dance with my hot new Clueless-esque outfit. I thought I looked so hot in my polyester XOXO brand black cargo mini with silver snaps and contrasting white stitching. I thought that skirt looked very "Rachel" (from Friends), my polyester flower print shirt with pearly buttons, black knee socks, and patent leather penny loafers. Now if that outfit doesn't scream 1996 I don't know what does. First off I didn't know mini skirt etiquette very well and I ended up having some embarrassing results. I ate some really nasty macaroni for lunch. The dance was bust. The worse thing was that that was my first dance ever. I remember one of the chaperone teachers told me that the boys pay money to sit on a bench and they don't even enter the dance. My feet were killing me in those shoes, so I ended up walking home barefoot and catching the end of Oprah.

7th grade:

If I remember correctly this year was pretty mellow. Well except this girl wanted me to give her all my Winnie the Pooh valentines because she really wanted them and I really wanted the Sailor Moon ones she had. You know if either of us was smart enough we could have proposed a trade.

8th grade:

I celebrated Valentines Day on Friday the 13th because it fell on a Saturday and I wouldn't be at school on a Saturday. People were more concerned about Valentines Day than Friday the 13th and bad luck. I didn't wear red because I was wearing my lucky shirt which was navy blue. I didn't really like red back then, but I kinda wore red because my shirt had red in it.

9th grade:

Valentines Day was celebrated on the 12th because it fell on a Sunday that year. They day before (the 11th) I had watched the video for "Just a Girl" and I felt inspired by it. So I felt like dressing like Gwen, like that is a surprise. So I wore my pants low and my shirt high and a high ponytail. I went to a Valentines day dance at lunch. (my 2nd dance ever and ironically a Valentines one) It was a pretty cheap dance because it was held during lunch. I was cold at the dance because I thought I looked really cool dressed like Gwen, and I didn't cover up my midsection. I ended up getting sick a few days later. I was also crushing on this guy and I was tempted to buy a Sailor Moon Valentines gram and send it anonymously, but I didn't know which class he was in. I spent that Valentines day moping around a feeling sorry for myself.

10th and 11th grade:

These years were pretty mellow nothing really to report here other than me being single and bitter about it.

12th grade:

I was reading the February 2002 issue of Teen and there was an article about girls who celebrated un-valentines day I got the idea to not celebrate it that year. By then I was already sick of it, and being single didn't help either. When you are in junior high and high school it seems like Valentines day is being crammed down your throat. One of the ideas I got from the magazine was to wear all black because it was your way of not showing your "love" for the holiday by wearing colors like pink, red, and purple. So I wore all black except for my red and white striped socks because I thought they were very "Gwen" and very cute. I wanted to wear my pants like she had wore them at the Billboard awards 2 months earlier in December. I still think black knicker pants and red and white striped socks look cool. So that was the only red thing I was wearing. This girl got mad at me because she said I copied her. She was wearing a short sleeved red and white striped shirt. How could I have copied her? I was wearing striped socks and she was wearing a striped shirt. I don't see how those are the same thing. Plus I was trying to copy Gwen anyway.

2003, 1st year of college:

I was going to try and experience my 1st Valentines day in college. Aside from seasonal Conversation Hearts being sold at the student store. I actually forgot the holiday was coming up. That year I didn't feel bad about being single or anything like that . I was going to go to school on Valentines day that year, but I got sick and never made it to school.

2005 3rd year of college:

I actually forgot it was Valentines day that year until I saw people on the street wearing red and pink. By then I was so over that and I hadn't wore red on Valentines day since that incident in 2002.

2006 4th year of college:

I had written about this Valentines day in a blog last year. Ok I only wrote about wearing my black Cena shirt and professing my love for him.

Aside from what I wrote in the blog I saw a lot of people on the bus in festive colors pink, red and purple. My writing teacher was decked out in red and made us write about Valentines day. The day before there were these 2 girls in my math class who were complaining about how their boyfriends were treating them on Valentines day. But those girl seemed to have a "high school" mentality.

As for this year I didn't do anything, and that was the best way to celebrate.

As a special treat here is a list of some of my more remembered Valentines day outfits broken down by year.

6th grade, 1996- Clueless-esque outfit

8th grade 1998- Navy No Doubt ringer shirt

9th grade 1999- A crop top and low cargo pants and a high ponytail

11th grade 2001- Sailor Moon shirt

12th grade 2002- Black outfit with red and white striped socks

4th year of college 2006- Black John Cena shirt
